I’ve puked and kept going after a momentary rest when I first started.
I’ve seen it happen with others, as well, who were insanely fit.
These are a few tricks that I have learned to help ensure this doesn’t happen:
-Don’t drink carbonated drinks before a workout. Should be a no brainer but I’ve seen it.
-Do drink plenty of water. Before, during, and after. Do not gulp it. Drink to a degree that you are replenishing what you are sweating out. Sports drinks that replenish electrolytes are good, as well, I just don’t like them.
-Control your breathing. If you have to, stop and raise your arms above your head and breath in through your nose and out through your mouth to get your breathing under control. Otherwise you can spike your blood pressure too fast and puke.
-Do not work out right after eating. I typically eat about an hour before I train.
-Do not allow yourself to get overheated.
-Keep your eyes open. I am guilty of closing my eyes to really focus on the muscle movement, however, if you have any kind of motion sickness this can trigger it.
